Round: 2 Phase: 9 (Form Corporations)
DanielB bids $3 for BME
DanielB: Guys, welcome to the game. You all are very good players. But You all have only 2-3 games under your belt. Jonathan is my roommate. Roger is in Central European time so we will be a little asynch. However Roger (David) let us know if any times for playing live with hangouts or zoom would work for you. Probably weekends late your time. In particular Sunday??
DanielB: This is stars so reds are misty worth plus 2 and oranges largely at face value. Every dollar counts!!
Richard Northey leaves auction
Roger deCarnac: reds are misty worth? Was that a typo, or slang I don't know?
Roger deCarnac leaves auction
Roger deCarnac: I am not a very good player. Maybe at civilisation, but not this game. I have only the flimsiest of grasps at the rules (reading them)
DanielB: "mostly" worth +2, some are worth +3, especially if you have a plan (like MHE - float Star,) etc...
Jonathan leaves auction
DanielB buys BME for $3 from the bank
Richard Northey bids $10 for MHE
Roger deCarnac leaves auction
Roger deCarnac: @Daniel - on weekends, I am usually doing online meetings/gaming with friends (D&D). Generally from 10 am to 3 pm Pacific time on Saturdays and 11am-1:30pm on Sundays. I could probably squeeze in an hour of live play on Sundays after that (so, after 1.30 pm /13.30)
Richard Northey: Is this game continuing?
DanielB: Yes
Jonathan bids $11 for MHE
Roger deCarnac: sorry, we have a big time difference. If that's a problem, I will quit. If not, it just means the turns will drag a bit.
DanielB leaves auction
Richard Northey leaves auction
Jonathan buys MHE for $11 from the bank
DanielB: No worries Roger!
Roger deCarnac bids $7 for AKE
Jonathan bids $8 for AKE
DanielB: David. For the future in v2. All reds in round 1 got for plus 2
DanielB bids $9 for AKE
Roger deCarnac: It's my investment strategy. Buy nothing, end with 30 bucks! ;)
Richard Northey leaves auction
Roger deCarnac leaves auction
Jonathan leaves auction
DanielB buys AKE for $9 from the bank
Roger deCarnac: v1 vs v2 don't really mean anything to me, having never played v1
Roger deCarnac: and v2 only 2-3 times and the last time a few years ago ;)
Jonathan bids $3 for BSE
DanielB bids $4 for BSE
Richard Northey leaves auction
Roger deCarnac leaves auction
Jonathan leaves auction
DanielB buys BSE for $4 from the bank

Richard Northey leaves auction
DanielB buys BY for $13 from the bank
Richard Northey passes
DanielB: David. The gamemaster is not allowing a $2 overbid in round 2 for old technology. Try again at par
Roger deCarnac: Thought they were all worth +2? And the synergy with PR counts for naught?
Roger deCarnac bids $7 for BPM
DanielB: yes, worth plus 2 in Round 1 not in Round 2. They will incur $2 maintenance in round 4
Richard Northey leaves auction
Roger deCarnac buys BPM for $7 from the bank
Jonathan passes
DanielB passes
Richard Northey passes
-- Round: 2 Phase: 2 (Upkeep) --
New player order: Richard Northey, Roger deCarnac, Jonathan, DanielB
-- Round: 2 Phase: 3 (Corporations Buys Companies) --
Jupiter buys BME for $2 from DanielB
Jupiter buys BSE for $3 from DanielB
Jupiter offers $9 for BPM
Jupiter passes
Star offers $8 for AKE
Star offers $9 for BPM
Jupiter declines to sell AKE to Star for $8
DanielB: Star is a rocket. It separately wants fuel. It can soar far higher than us earthlings. Keeping all reds away from Star. Was why I overpaid for AKE and BSE
DanielB: Desperately. Not separately
Jonathan: Every company wants reds equally. Jupiter makes just as much off of it and he gets a bonus for each company it owns. But sure.
Jonathan: Wat, I take back what I said. Jupiter benefits far more than Star. It increases his income by 5
Jonathan: Selling it to Daniel is nuts
Jonathan: The only argument against selling to Star is that I own too shares of it. But I'm going to basically do the same thing whether I get it or not. Dividend heavily twice and then dump the shares.
Jonathan: *two
Jonathan: To be clear, it's strong to sell it. You want to form with the PR and then buy the SX or OL to go with it, so you need to liquidate your BPM
Roger deCarnac: where can one see the bonsues that the corporations get? I cannot find this. A few years ago, when I played this about 3 times, I knew. But I have forgotten it all.
Jonathan: Hit "previous phase" at the top until it takes you to the corp forming phase
Jonathan: It's Phase 9
Roger deCarnac: Thanks. I see that. But it does not tell me what Jupiter and Star get as bonsuses
Jonathan: Do you mean synergies or company super powers?
Jonathan: If you go back to phase 9 and scroll down it gives a list of the super powers including Star and Jupiter
Roger deCarnac: company super powers. I think I have got the measure of synergies. If Star gets BPM, it's another +2 income (or is it +4? do the synergies count from the perspective of each company)
Jonathan: Star gets two extra stars, which means it's net worth is $20 higher when calculating share movement. Jupiter earns an extra dollar for every company in it.
Jonathan: Jupiter has 3 reds, which are each worth a Star, so it basically two extra stars as well because Daniel was able to acquire so many companies
Roger deCarnac: I have scrolled up and down - don't see the superpowers
Star buys BPM for $9 from Roger deCarnac
Jonathan: Maybe it only shows you if you had the option to form a corp.
Roger deCarnac: maybe. anyway, enjoy your Beats per Minute!
Star passes

MHE passes
BPM passes
AKE passes

Richard Northey collects $3 income
Roger deCarnac collects $3 income
Jonathan collects $0 income
DanielB collects $3 income
Foreign Investor collects $5 income
-- Round: 2 Phase: 6 (Pay Dividends And Adjust Share Prices) --
Star pays $2 dividends - Jonathan receives $4
Star changes share price from $14 to $18
Roger deCarnac: How is Jupiter's income 7? I can clearly see how all players and Star got their income. Something related to Jupiter's super power?
Jonathan: Jupiter's super power is that each company earns it an extra dollar
Roger deCarnac: ok, thanks. see that
Jonathan: If he got the BPM, it's income would be 12
Jonathan: At which point I'd be desperately trying to negotiate a way to raise cost of maintenance a turn early
Roger deCarnac: How does it get to 12? 6 from the cards themselves, plus 4 for Jupiter, plus 1 for synergy? Or is it plus 2 for synergy (so each card counts the synergy individually)? Thanks for the help!
Roger deCarnac: never mind. I see there are two synergistic companies with BPM, so that makes 12
DanielB: Yeah. I should have bought bpm myself
DanielB: You see Jonathan’s early lead? It will get worse
Jupiter pays $0 dividends
Jupiter changes share price from $10 to $12
Jupiter passes
-- Round: 2 Phase: 7 (Check Game End) --
-- Round: 2 Phase: 8 (Issue New Shares) --
Roger deCarnac: lead in value? yes. Or is there something hidden as well?
Jonathan: I did the math Daniel. Over two turns my net worth will be a dollar better than if I hadn't bought it
Jonathan: It was far far better for you
Jonathan: I miss out on $2 of dividends to sell at 16,14 instead of 14,13
Star passes
Jonathan: I finally figured out how the stars system works for double jumps. The cutoff point for the Star to start double jumping immediately is it has to get to 6 stars after its first turn. I couldn't get there.
Jupiter passes
-- Round: 2 Phase: 9 (Form Corporations) --
Jonathan: You probably both want to form, so you can acquire an Orange with a synergy and buy it in for max next round.
DanielB: The powers are displayed when a company has an election tto form a new Corporatlon. Phase 9. Like
